Helena was so thankful for a home that she curled up and snuggled regularly with her new family. But instead of appreciating this dog’s love and snuggles, the family saw her as too affectionate and returned sweet Helena to the shelter.
Helena was taken in by a nonprofit that ensures adoptable dogs don’t get put down. The nonprofit brought Helena in, knowing that there was a forever home for her somewhere. As they dug deeper into the situation, they found that Helena’s family had been searching for a guard dog. Helena certainly didn’t fit that bill since she was so friendly.
