Cats that enter foster homes generally come from challenging home situations or life on the streets. After these struggles, they can have a hard time adjusting to life with a new family. Foster cats often need time to slowly adjust and get comfortable around new people.
One cat struggled to get comfortable once a foster family took it in. The foster dad was very patient though and gave the cat all the time and space it needed. Knowing that this is a hard transition for cats, he would sit out food far away from people to let the cat adjust.
