Skatty is a great companion to Thompson. Skatty is a Maine Coon cat with extra toes on its feet, making it a special and unique cat. To make him even more unique, the cat serves as a sailor’s ears.
Thompson is deaf, but sets sail on La Chica, his boat. He adopted the cat when Skatty was just a few months old. Skatty has learned how to read Thompson’s body language to react and do what is needed on the boat. The two have become great companions and help to one another. Skatty can alert Thompson when another boat is approaching.
