Poodle cats are extremely rare, mostly because they are created through breeding different types of cats. The cats have curly fur like a poodle, which is where they get their name. The curly fur is a very unique characteristic for cats and makes these cats so unique and beautiful.
It took a bit of time for people to recognize this breed of cat as a unique breed and classify it separately. The University of veterinary medicine then recognized these cats as a breed officially. The French refer to these cats as the sheep cat because of the type of fur that they have.
