Potato is a cat that had no ears and was tragically living on the streets in China, waiting for someone to pay attention to it and give it a home. A shelter heard about this cat in need and swooped in to rescue it. At the time, the cat was sick and in need of medical attention.
He still had his ears at the time of rescue, but he had such a severe infection that the vet could not get it to go away. The only chance of helping this cat survive was to remove his ears. The tough part about this is, it made the cat less attractive for adoption.
