A single mother had devoted herself to raising her young son. It had always been just the two of them. So when the time came for the boy to go off to college, he was worried about his mother. He urged her to go to a local shelter to adopt a cat.
They came home with a stunning black cat and felt good about having adopted it. The woman was a little worried though because she had never cared for a cat before. The cat had been a stray but the shelter was confident she was a great housecat.
