A couple repeatedly saw the same black cat in their backyard. They put food out for the animal, but any time they tried to get close, it would run away. The couple knew that it would take time for the cat to adjust to them so they patiently waited. With time, the cat did get less skittish.
Then one day when they opened the patio door, the cat tried to scurry inside. The couple named the kitten and welcomed him to their home. Even the family dog seemed to like the kitten that just wandered in and made himself at home.
