It’s a well-known fact that most cats don’t enjoy water. But someone got very creative and found a way to house cats on an old boathouse. Back in the 1960s, the shelter’s founder came across a family of cats living in a tree. She took the cats in and quickly became known as the cat lady.
Quickly, her home filled up though and she needed another solution for housing these cats in need. She found an old barge and converted it into a shelter for cats. The cats have access to the outdoors year-round and the barge is heated and cooled.
